CHICAGO, November 17, 2025 - Loyola Press will release Our Treasures Within on January 20, 2026, a new picture book by Peter H. Reynolds and Paul A. Reynolds that brings to life the inspiring words and message of Pope Francis for children and families.
Rooted in Pope Francis’ call to discover and share the gifts God places within each person, Our Treasures Within offers a meaningful resource for Catholic classrooms, parish programs, and faith-filled homes. Through the Reynolds brothers’ signature storytelling and Peter’s inspiring artwork, the book helps readers of all ages reflect on how God’s light shines through our unique talents as we use those gifts for the good of others.
Development began in 2022 and continued following the April 21, 2025 passing of Pope Francis, making the project both a tribute and a continuation of his pastoral legacy of hope, compassion, and service.
Peter H. Reynolds, New York Times #1 best-selling author and illustrator of the international sensation The Dot as well as I am Love, Be You, and The Word Collector, shares, “Growing up Catholic and mentored by Jesuits, my heart skipped a beat when I got the call to work on this book. My brother Paul and I are truly honored to be able to play a small part in helping ensure Pope Francis' messages will continue to inspire youth around the world—and the grown-ups who care for them—for generations to come.”
Following the global success of Dear Pope Francis (Loyola Press, 2016), Our Treasures Within extends the mission of sharing Pope Francis’ uplifting words with young readers and their caregivers. The book illuminates his enduring invitation to recognize the gifts within each of us and to share them generously: “It’s like playing a treasure hunt, because it is not easily found. But once you find it, share it.”
Joellyn Cicciarelli, President and Publisher at Loyola Press, adds, “This book is more than a story — it’s an awakening. Pope Francis and the Reynolds brothers invite every child, regardless of faith tradition, to recognize their purpose within and to use it to make the world more kind, just, and joyful."
Our Treasures Within will be available in hardcover and digital formats on January 20, 2026 wherever books are sold in the United States. Interest from international publishers is strong, with rights discussions already underway. For pre-orders and bulk purchases, visit www.store.loyolapress.com.
